AFTER TAKING the Ghanaian and African music scenes by storm with her single “Biribi Yaaye Me”, the US-based Ghanaian hiplife/R&B diva is now set to unleash her debut album.
On Saturday August 16 in the US at the Best Western Hotel, 5910 Princess Garden Parkway Lanham, MD 20706, Maryland, Veeda, otherwise known as Vida Darko would be releasing the album “Destiny” with an unparalleled party.
Sources from her Milestone Productions camp said she is preparing feverishly towards the occasion. The artiste herself confirmed this in a telephone conversation with Beatwaves. “
The launching’s gonna be fun. I don’t wanna stress on that too much but I’ll be performing my single ‘Biribi Yaaye Me’, and other interesting songs on the album.
Also the occasion would be used to raise funds for the Change Charity to support less privileged children back home,” she said.
She indicated she would be performing alongside the likes of Disastrous, Babashanti, Sean Nicolas, and possibly, Connecticut’s finest Hiplife General Secretary, Oheneba P. K. On the guest list, however, would be the hiplife grandpapa Reggie Rockstone, Mzbel, VIP among others.
Veeda hinted she would be going on a tour after the launching, adding “I will be coming down after this month for an after launching party to present myself to my fans in Ghana, so that they have a feel of what I can do.”
Having begun her music career long ago, since infancy, Veeda says music has always been her heart’s desire, as she does not only enjoy singing but loves composing songs on current issues confronting society.
At a very tender age while in the States she started backing prolific French singers. She went on to back Ghana’s Yaw Sarpong, Francis Adjei and Ofori Amponsah. Now the stage is set for her to unleash her own intellectual works.
All songs on the album were written by Veeda with the support of D-Jones, John Dee, Red Eye and Ceece. The album’s music video – ‘Please Forgive Me’ is till capturing attention on the screens and Veeda believes she is driving toward success.
